I'm sorry but that is not a 'small' tissue sample. Sometimes I feel like biologists are to blame for a significant amount of animal cruelty; tissue samples, radio transponders, camera's, lab experiments, tagging, etc. animals obviously don't want any of this done to them or attached to them. But I understand also, that it's a little bad done in the name of the greater good. None the less, that poor shark now has a hole in him/her that will heal back as scar tissue instead of healthy muscle tissue. Perhaps it will cause him no trouble and perhaps it will... we will never know.
